Sports! No…uh Beer! No wait… Cars!

Can’t think of a theme for your man’s Valentine’s Day gift? I completely understand, and I’m here to help.

This year, skip the handmade folded paper flower with tiny handwritten notes expressing all of the reasons you love him. It’s time consuming, and I’m saying this with love, it’s unlikely to turn out as cute as the picture you found on Pinterest. 😛

This year, show him you love him by showing him that you really know him.

Experiences
Check your community’s postings for concerts, festivals, classes, or lectures happening near Valentine’s Day. Get tickets for both of you to make another memory together. Complete the night with dinner and a hotel stay. I am the queen of experience giving and it is always my first choice.

The Gift Basket
Gift baskets are no longer just for your boss or Great Aunt Gertrude. They are definitely cool again, but maybe don’t use an actual woven basket. Fill them with beef jerky, those tickets we talked about, Cards Against HumanityLegos (if he is into that), beard care products, his favorite bottle of whiskey, Xbox, Playstation, or Steam game gift cards, and a well made multitool. Think about his hobbies and add in related items.

Go Down Memory Lane
Spend the day visiting important places from your relationship. Relive your first date, go see the place he proposed, have a photo book made showing all of your most important moments together. Go stand where you stood 10 years ago before you ever knew how great your lives would be together and read a love letter. You will laugh, you will cry, you will thank me later.

The Manliest of Picnics
I’m not talking about a dainty tea in the park with adorable little floral cups and teeny tea sandwiches with that awesome cream cheese spread and…oh sorry…I’m back. I’m talking a hearty picnic! With subs, BBQ potato chips, and flasks! I do these for my clients and they are always a fun and low stress option. Check the rules of any park you go to about their alcohol policy first.
